Tuition incentive program
Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) is a state program that allows eligible students to have their first two years at a community college paid for (at an in-district tuition rate*). TIP students can then transfer to a participating four-year university and receive an additional $1,000 for their Junior year of college and $1,000 for their Senior year of college.
*In-district tuition is the price a student pays if they have lived in the county of their chosen community college for at least 6 months. Those who live outside of the county pay a slightly higher rate. TIP ONLY covers in-district tuition rates, so students have to pay the small difference. Majority of students who qualify for TIP can have this difference covered by the PELL grant.
