What should I consider when deciding where to attend college?
1. If you've visited the college, do you feel comfortable there?
- A lot of students talk about having a "feeling" at a particular college and that this "feeling" is what made them decide to go there. Make sure you feel at home at the college you attend!
- Colleges all cost different amounts and offer different amounts for scholarships. It's important to factor out how much each college will cost for you. Ask the counseling office to assist you with this!
- Make sure they have programs based on what you want to make a career out of!
what not to do when considering a college:
1. Do not pick a college just because your friend goes there.
- Each person is very different and values different things within a college. If you pick a college just because your friend goes there, you probably won't be happy because you didn't put your values first!
- While it can be great to attend a prestigious college, you need to make sure you pick the college that you truly like the most and feels like the best fit for you.
- While attending sporting events in college is fun, it's important to recognize that you are at that college for academics first.
