Hello! I am the school counselor at Fennville High School. I have been in this position for 16 years! I live in Fennville with my family. I have three children that attend Fennville as well. I grew up on the east side of the state in Marsyville, MI. I attended St. Clair County Community College for two years and then transferred to Michigan State University and earned a Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology. Then, I started on my Master Degree in School Counseling from Western Michigan University. In my role, I have the pleasure of working with Fennville students closely as we develop thoughtful schedules that lead to your successful graduation as well as building upon your future plans. It is a joy to watch students progress through 4 years of high school and end with watching them walk across the graduation stage. Feel free to stop in anytime with questions and concerns!
What to expect from me this year: My goal is to help students enroll in education after graduation--whether that is a 4-year university, community college, beauty school, trade school/apprenticeship, or the military--and I will work on 3 initiatives (listed below) to do that. I will be at Fennville on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays to help students. For students learning remotely, I will be reaching out via email or text to set up a one-on-one conversation about their future plans.
Michigan College Month/Fennville Futures Week: During October, I will help your students with their post-graduation plans, including FAFSA and college applications. I will also help students seeking trade schools with their applications.
College Cash Campaign: From November-February I will be helping students find and apply to scholarships and work on resumes.
Decision Day: From March-May I will help seniors make sure they have completed everything they need for their post-graduation plans.
